Objective and Focus Areas

Geosciences Division of TRAC is being carried out various scientific and developmental projects of different user Departments of State and Central Govt., and International agencies for the last 20 years. The projects pertaining to mapping / studies of lithology, geomorphology, hydrogeomorphology, geological structure, mineral prospecting, development of mining information system (MIS), and addressing and preparation of mitigation measures for natural disaster / geo-hazards, and the geo-environmental issues. Remote sensing technology has been successfully used in studying these aspects in spatial and temporal domain by TRAC. The division also provides solutions to the user departments on demand.

Goal: Providing cost effective solutions for ground water problems (Both Quantity & Quality) of the rural poor using the space borne platforms. It will provide inputs to the planning department for effective planning and management of natural resources.
